Four of us had a lovely lunch at the Fountain , all different but very good and tasty. The staff very friendly The inn was clean and homely. We heard so many good comments on the Fountain So decided to have our moms wake there, And we were done proud with a excellent spread The food on table was a great selection of hot and cold The drinks were not expensive Plenty of parking room, and a lovely little garden. Thank you to all staff

My Wife and I called in here twice during our week long stay in Gornal. The first time on entering the premises all eyes focused on us as if we were strangers (which of course we were). But on the second it was as if we were regulars, yet most of the customers and staff were different. It was as if someone had said "ah, sure they were here the other night". Friendly bar staff that made us feel very comfortable and greeting customers. I did happen to notice a few customers bringing their beautiful dogs in during the week at night. Being a dog lover myself, at times I wished I lived and could walk my dog in that area!

Visit here quite often as its a local pub to us. Great selection of real ales with an extensive food menu. The sausage and mash menu they do is always faultless. I love the pie and my husband loves the faggots. My only negative is the chips are never cooked enough so my husband always has to ask for them to be well done. We visited as a party of 14 the weekend and all food was served quickly and all together. Definitely worth a visit if you are looking for some proper home cooked food.
